Product Description

Moving objects can appear tilted or stretched when captured with a rolling shutter camera. For inspection and positioning tasks, these distortions can make outlines and feature locations harder to evaluate.

The Sinoseen XLS21955-V1.0 is a color MIPI camera module built around the onsemi AR0234 global shutter sensor. It captures the image with simultaneous exposure across the frame, preserving moving-object geometry without the row-by-row exposure skew associated with rolling shutter.

The module provides 1920 × 1200 imaging and is listed for operation up to 120 fps. Its documented optical configuration includes a 5 mm lens with a 69° diagonal field of view. A 38 × 38 mm board and 100 mm FPC cable provide defined dimensions for enclosure and host connection planning.

For projects requiring a different viewing angle, working distance, or mechanical arrangement, Sinoseen can assess an OEM/ODM configuration before sample production.

Product Overview & Features

Global Shutter for Moving-Part Inspection

Global shutter exposure helps preserve the shape of moving components, printed patterns, and other visual targets. This matters when the inspection software needs consistent edges or feature positions.

It does not eliminate motion blur. Exposure time and illumination must still be matched to target speed, particularly on conveyors or moving robot assemblies.

1920 × 1200 Color Imaging

The 1920 × 1200 array provides approximately 2.3 million pixels. Color capture allows applications to evaluate appearance as well as shape—for example, distinguishing colored markers or checking packaging features.

Usable detail depends on how much of the image the target occupies. Lens selection and working distance should therefore be considered alongside resolution. Color-sensitive tasks also require controlled lighting and suitable image processing.

Up to 120 fps in Supported MIPI Configurations

A higher capture rate provides more frequent observations of moving targets. The supplied sensor specifications list full-resolution operation at 120 fps using four-lane MIPI.

Sustained module output depends on the selected mode, exposure settings, driver, and host processing capacity. Confirm the required resolution, bit depth, and frame rate together during sample evaluation.

Defined Lens Coverage

The documented lens has a 5 mm focal length, F2.4 aperture, and the following field of view:

  • Diagonal: 69°

  • Horizontal: 60°

  • Vertical: 39°

  • Listed angular tolerance: ±3°

This gives engineers a starting point for estimating scene coverage. The actual working distance and focus setting should be confirmed against the target size and required detail.

The optical specification sets a TV distortion requirement of no more than 1%. Applications involving dimensional measurement should still validate distortion and perform calibration where necessary.

Board and FPC Integration

The board measures 38 × 38 mm and includes four mounting holes. The drawing specifies a 100 mm FPC cable and a 30-pin connection.

Check connector orientation, cable routing, lens clearance, and mounting positions before finalizing the enclosure. Matching the number of connector pins alone does not establish electrical compatibility.

Motion Analysis: Record frequent observations of moving objects while avoiding rolling shutter skew.

OEM/ODM Customization & Development Process

Configure the Camera Around Your Device

A camera must fit the enclosure, connect to the host, and capture the required scene. Sinoseen can assess changes to the optical configuration, board layout, FPC arrangement, and supported operating settings.

Project Requirement Areas for Engineering Review Information to Provide
The target does not fit the image Lens selection, field of view, and focus setting Working distance, target dimensions, required coverage
The board or lens does not fit the enclosure PCB outline, mounting points, and lens clearance Mechanical drawings and installation space
The host uses a different connection Connector, pinout, FPC routing, and electrical compatibility Host documentation and connection requirements
Moving images lack sufficient detail Exposure, illumination, and supported frame-rate modes Target speed, test images, and lighting conditions
Color reproduction needs adjustment Supported image processing and host ISP settings Reference targets and representative lighting
The application uses infrared illumination Lens and filter suitability Illumination wavelength and imaging requirements

Customization scope, development costs, and lead time are confirmed after engineering review. Interface changes may require a different module design.

Customization Process

Step 1 — Share Your Requirements
Provide the application, host platform, resolution and frame rate, working distance, installation constraints, and estimated quantity.

Step 2 — Review Technical Feasibility
Assess the optical setup, MIPI connection, mechanical arrangement, and operating mode. Identify which requirements can use the standard configuration.

Step 3 — Confirm Drawings and Acceptance Criteria
Agree on dimensions, pin assignments, lens configuration, and sample evaluation requirements before prototyping.

Step 4 — Evaluate Samples in Your Device
Check image quality, sustained frame rate, exposure, color processing, host compatibility, and mechanical fit under actual operating conditions.

Step 5 — Approve the Production Configuration
Confirm the accepted sample, drawings, lens, FPC, and relevant hardware and software revisions before volume production.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a 2MP or 2.3MP camera module?

The documented resolution is 1920 × 1200, which equals 2,304,000 pixels, or approximately 2.3MP. The product list uses “2M” as a general resolution category.

Does this configuration capture color or monochrome images?

The supplied product list identifies XLS21955-V1.0 as a color module. Although the AR0234 sensor family includes color and monochrome variants, this page describes the color configuration.

Can it deliver 1920 × 1200 at 120 fps?

The supplied sensor specification lists this mode using four-lane MIPI, and the module list states 120 fps. Sustained capture should be verified with the intended host, driver, output settings, and exposure time.

Does global shutter eliminate all motion blur?

No. Global shutter avoids the skew caused by different rows being exposed at different times. A moving target can still blur during the exposure, so short exposure times and adequate illumination remain necessary.

Can I connect this module directly to USB or any MIPI development board?

The specified interface is MIPI, with no direct USB output listed. MIPI host compatibility also requires matching the lane configuration, connector, pinout, power, clock, and driver requirements. Provide your host details before ordering.
